Marvin Elevate Window & Door Replacement in Darien

Collaboration:This project included the replacement of 34 windows and the installation of a Marvin Elevate single hinged French patio door, upgrading the home with energy-efficient, durable, and high-quality materials.

The new Marvin Elevate double hung windows feature prefinished white pine interiors, white Ultrex exteriors, LowE2 Argon energy-efficient glass, 3-part SDL grids in a 6-over-1 pattern, and standard half screens. Marvin Essential double hung windows were installed in select areas, featuring white Ultrex fiberglass interiors and exteriors, grids between the glass in a 6-over-1 pattern, and tempered glass in bathrooms.

The Marvin Elevate single hinged French patio door adds both style and durability, featuring a prefinished white pine interior, white Ultrex exterior, 15-lite SDL grids, and Satin Nickel Cambridge hardware without a keylock.

Installation followed a replacement method for the windows, retaining existing interior and exterior trim while adding secondary trim where needed. Foam insulation was applied between the new windows and jambs. The patio door was installed using a new construction method, removing the existing unit down to the studs before flashing, insulating, and adding flat pine with backband interior trim and flat PVC exterior trim.
