After hearing our customer’s story, John Zaborowski from our team visited Woodcock Nature Center to assess the problem firsthand. What he found was more than just an aging door — the previous installation had been done improperly, leaving the structure out of alignment and exposed to the elements.

The Door Project — A Hands-On Gift

Our certified installers provided a Therma-Tru Smooth Star S236 4-lite, 6-panel fiberglass entry door, chosen for its strength, insulation, and low-maintenance design.

During removal, our team uncovered significant framing and sheathing issues from the prior work. We took the time to rebuild the opening with new plywood sheathing, properly insulate, and apply weatherproof flashing for long-term protection.

The new entry was expertly installed, finished with new trim, and painted the following morning — all at no cost to the nature center. Waste removal was included, as always.

Sprinkles the Inspector

When the paint dried and the new Therma-Tru door was officially in place, Woodcock’s beloved ambassador — Sprinkles the Eastern Box Turtle — made his slow and steady appearance to inspect the work.

Sprinkles’ cameo became a highlight of the project, symbolizing the care and patience both teams brought to the collaboration. His quiet approval reminded us that good work, like nature, takes time and attention to detail.
