Andersen 400 Series Window Conversion Project in Wilton, CT

Collaboration: For this transformative project in Wilton, CT, we replaced five existing windows with premium Andersen 400 Series units to elevate both energy efficiency and aesthetics. Three existing awning windows were removed and replaced with larger Andersen 400 Series awning windows. This included reframing the wall down to accept the new 48” tall windows, cutting through sheetrock and the home’s exterior siding for a seamless new construction installation. The result? More natural light now fills this room, enhancing the comfort and openness of the space. The new awning windows feature a classic 4W4H grid pattern, prefinished white pine interior, and white PVC exterior with LowE4 Argon energy efficient glass.

In the same project, we also upgraded one existing picture window with a new Andersen 400 Series picture window featuring a 9W6H grid, installed using a full new construction method. Additionally, a single double hung window was converted into a two-wide tilt wash double hung configuration — this required widening the opening, reframing the wall with a new header, and carefully cutting through the home’s sheetrock and exterior to accommodate the style conversion. The new double hung window features a 12 over 8 reverse cottage grid to match the look of the rest of the room.

All units include white hardware, standard screens, and a new construction installation with complete removal of the existing units, insulation, flashing, and fresh trim work. Interior trim was installed using 2.5” colonial casing, with stool and apron trim on the picture and double hung windows and picture framing on the awning windows.
